Not everyone has or will soon get an opportunity to admire the picturesque whereabouts of the Sauthern Pacific. That is why it is a very good idea to visit exhibition room of the Jagiellonian Library in 3 Oleandry Street in Krakow where between 12th and 23rd April every visitor will feel as if he was on vacation. On 12th April 2010, at 11:00, the vernissage of the exhibition “Whereabouts of the Southern Pacific” will take place. Apart from wonderful photos of breathtaking sandy beaches and amazing coral reefs, the event will also include Pacific food tasting (fruit of artocarpus, Poi drink, chicken with coconut), listening to ukulele music and hula dance shows.
During the vernissage the contest “Antipodes familiar and unfamiliar” organized for the Cracovian high-schools will be officially finished and the prizes will be distributed. The event is also going to be combined with a scientific discussion, during which young scientists will talk about the mentioned region of the world.
The event is organized by the Scientific Association of Australia, New Zealand and Oceania and the Institute of political Studies and International Relations of the Jagiellonian Unversity.
