Contrary to our daily habits, the art of tea brewing in the traditional culture of Japan, is a beautiful and elaborate ritual, in which every movement has its significance. This ceremony constitutes a kind of Way of Tea (chado) which is followed throughout the entire life. Sometimes, we should be ashamed of the fact that for us the act of tea brewing is short and unimportant, often performed mechanically without thinking.
The Centre of Japanese Art and Technology together with SENSHINKAI Chadou Urasenke Tankoukai Krakow Association would like to invite everyone to the cycle of monthly meetings titled “Tea Meetings in the Bamboo Paradise,” which will show the secrets of tea ceremony. During the meetings the inhabitants of Krakow will have a chance to learn some crucial facts connected with this beautiful Japanese tradition.
Once a month all participants will see how complicated and serious is the allegedly unimportant activity of tea preparation. Every meeting, which is started with an interesting lecture, presents one of many ways of serving tea.
