The Krakow People-Space-City Association [Krakowskie Stowarzyszenie Ludzie-Przestrzeń-Miasto] has put forward a proposal concerning a conversion of the main streets of Kazimierz into a residential zone. However, the proposal, which will undoubtedly make life easier for the residents of Kazimierz and tourists, can cause problems with parking for the residents of other districts and visitors. At present the streets and pavements of Kazimierz, which are very narrow, are filled with cars taking up all free space near the street, making walking more difficult. If this project comes into effect, the area between Miodowa St and Józefa St will become a residential zone, where pedestrians have the right of way and where the maximum speed is reduced to 20 kmph. This proposal is supported by the Council of 1st District and the Board of Communal Infrastructure and Transport is open for negotiations, so it is very likely that at Kazimierz there will be such zone, just like near the Main Square.
