For the last two years Krakow has participated in the action aimed at creating a tourist-friendly image of the city. Amongst others, the “friendly service” which a foreign visitor may expect should include a possibility to use the most popular language of the world, English, in all institutions, bars and restaurants.
Cracovian entrepreneurs who managed to provide the English-speaking service for the tourists, designate their restaurants, shops and even taxis with a sticker saying: “Please come in, we do speak English.” Such stickers can already be found in Krakow – in all of these places foreign visitors can deal with competent people who know English.
Such actions help to create a positive image of Krakow in the minds of our foreign guests. The Project, which includes free promotion of bars and other businesses involved in the action, is coordinated by the Press Office of the Krakow’s City Council. Let us hope that the formerly mentioned stickers will also appear in Cracovian public offices soon.
