Kraków Classified High Again Again, the ancient city of Krakow has proved that it is also a very modern place which is capable of linking tradition with the latest trends and requirements. Because of crisis, 2009 was not an easy year for Krakow - and for other Polish towns, too. This was not, however, an obstacle for our city to become the winner of the ranking organized by the Association of Polish Counties.
Over 52 cities competed for the first 15 places in the ranking for the Best Polish City which has the county rights. Kraków, however, has gained the first position! The points were allotted in over 50 categories, they included: pro-investment and pro-development actions, the actions which improve the quality of services for the inhabitants, the development of the information society, promotion of eco-energetic, pro-ecologic and pro-health solutions and finally, the national and international cooperation.
Kraków has received points in over half of the categories. Amongst others the following things were appreciated: the e-office system, free hot spots, participation in international culture-oriented projects, implementation of the renewable energy project.
