Every year, inhabitants of Krakow look forward to an amazing event of the Musesum Nights. The Nights of Theatres and Jazz are also very popular but the most unusual of all the Cracovian Night Cycles is definitely the Cracovia Sacra. The fact that the Sacral Night proved very popular last year led to the situation that this year the event will last... two nights. The rediscovery of the Cracovian spiritual paths will start in the evening of 14th August and will end at night between 15th and 16th August. It is not accidental that this event takes place in Krakow as the city due to a great number of churches is called by many the second Rome.
The churches of Krakow will be visited according to a set plan - along the route of crowned images of the Mother of God who will await the visitors in her many incarnations: Mary the Gracious in Wawel Cathedral, the Sokolska Mary in the Bernadine Church, Our Lady of Piasek in the Carmelite Church in Piasek, the Consolation icon in St Catherine's Church, Our Lady of Częstochowa in St Mary's Basilica, Mary the Sorrowful in the Franciscan Basilica, with an apple in the Corpus Christi Basilica, the Consolation icon in St Stephen's and the Fatima statue in Our Lady Queen of Poland - the Ark of the Lord Church in Nowa Huta.
Other attractions of the Night include many concerts of sacral music: in Franciscan monastery we may listen to Anna Szałapak and in St Mary's Basilica to a world-famous opera singer, Elżbieta Towarnicka, who will be accompanied by Marek Stefański. This is not everything, of course, but all other misteries of the Night are best discovered oneself while following the sacral route.
