Cracovian Garden Day

Cracovian Garden Day If you still don’t know what to do during the forthcoming long weekend in Krakow you should visit some Cracovian gardens. Although Krakow is a big city, it is not only filled with town houses, blocks and pavements but also with gardens full of fragrant flowers whose beauty is especially prominent in this spring and summer season.
In June, during the Garden Day Festival, inhabitants of Krakow as well as tourists will have a chance to see the gardens which are normally closed to the public. You will be able to visit royal, university, monastery and some private gardens where performances, concerts, artistic workshops and some food tasting await everyone. It is worth mentioning that such scenic towns like Wieliczka, Pieskowa Skała or Proszowice also participate in the Garden Day.
The Festival, which will last till 14th June 2009, is organised by Botanic Gardens of Jagiellonian University, “Gardens of Art” Association and “Malwa” Modern Music Club. All the attractions and events of the Garden Day are free of charge.
